I'm a QAA - Quality Assurance Analyst. My job is to design, create, execute and automate tests using nothing but my own CPU and the two in my intel core 2 duo. If tests pass, I let the business know "Hey - we tested the stuff you told the developers to create, and it works flawlessly - go ahead and make it avaiable for our customers to use." If tests do not pass, I need to determine whether or not the failure was a result of a flaw in the test, or if it is inherent to the actual code. If it's in the test, then it's my responsibility to fix it and re-run. If it's in the code, I need to be all like, "Yo! Dev guys! Check out this notness!" and after a while they'll tell me "Okay we think we've fixed it - test it out" and it's a rinse & repeat business.
Well, the software is giant and tests are written on a per-module level. In essence, breaking up a big piece of ace into smaller kings and queens.
However, there is a failure occuring on me even logging in!! It's an "environment" issue, which is completely separate from the code. So I can't even begin to see whether or not the code works.
I feel so unproductive when my entire day consists of logging in.
In other news, have you all read the article about the prostitute who was raped? When she went to court, the judge (female judge mind you) dropped the offense from "rape" to "theft of services":
She'd been doing it a few months when, on Sept. 20, she arranged to have protected sex with a man and his friend for $250. But when she showed up, the man pulled a gun and forced her to have unprotected sex with him and three other men.
Hero? or a Zero?
Read about it, and learn!
